Cydia updated to v1.1.17 to support iOS 8.3; fix ‘cannot identify your device’ issue [Updated to v1.1.18]

Saurik has just released an update for the Cydia Installer (v1.1.17) to make it compatible with iOS 8.3. The update will fix the issue where Cydia would report that it “cannot identify your device” when you try to access your Cydia account.
The issue was reported by several users after jailbreaking their iOS device on iOS 8.3 using TaiG’s jailbreak tool.
Here’s the complete change log:
Update Cydia to Support iOS 8.3
On iOS 8.3, Cydia would report that it “cannot identify your device” while trying to access your account. This was due to changes on iOS 8.3, and has been fixed.
Support file:/// Repository URLs
Recent versions of Cydia have rejected “local” repository URLs. This was due to an overly-limited filter on acceptable URLs. You can now again use local repositories.
If you’ve jailbroken your device using the TaiG iOS 8.3 Jailbreak then you should get an Essential Upgrade popup. Tap on the Complete Upgrade to install Cydia 1.1.17 update.
Please note that this still doesn’t fix the Cydia Substrate issue. As reported earlier, TaiG will need to update the jailbreak kernel patch to fix the issue with Cydia Substrate.
The TaiG team had said that they would release the jailbreak today.
Update:
Saurik has released Cydia 1.1.18 to fix a bug that could cause SpringBoard to lock up if it was killed by a user via the app switcher. The bug was introduced in v1.1.17, which was released earlier today.
Here’s the complete change log for Cydia 1.1.18 update:
Killing Cydia Locked up SpringBoard
A “proactive” fix for iOS 8.3 added in Cydia 1.1.17 caused SpringBoard to lock up if users killed Cydia using the iOS task switcher. This fix is designed to fix an issue that should be present on iOS 8.3, but TaiG’s jailbreak seems to provide a workaround in the form of a kernel patch. This will be investigated for later releases, but in the mean time the fix has been removed.
