iOS 9: Features, Release date and Rumors
Apple is widely expected to unveil iOS 9, the ninth major release of the mobile operating system for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch at the WorldWide Developer Conference keynote on June 8th. It is internally codenamed Monarch.
iOS 9 is sounding like it will be an impressive update, even if the main focus of this release is for optimizations and enhancements behind the scenes.
It will also include support for Force Touch for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, redesigned keyboard and more granular control over read receipts in iMessage. We’ve also heard that iOS 9 will see a makeover for Siri, finally bring transit data for Apple Maps, while also bringing a new font – San Francisco – across the entire system to keep the aesthetic fresh.
Apple will most likely seed the first beta version of June 8th to developers, followed by the release in September, just before the launch of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
